| Public Deliberation offers a framework for a different kind of conversation on community issues, one that changes the public discourse and promotes community problem-solving. In this one-session workshop, participants will focus on developing advanced listening & facilitation skills to guide them in facilitating deliberative forums. This session will guide participants through identifying their natural facilitation style and their personal assets as a facilitator, understanding how to guide the discussion without leading it, and navigating potential challenges as a moderator. Participants will learn how to ask good questions and how to listen & engage forum participants appropriately. Participants will have the opportunity to practice facilitating and receive feedback on their facilitation. Prerequisite: Introduction to Public Deliberation or other prior knowledge of public deliberation. Adults 18 and older are welcome.
