American New Religious Movements

« back to classes page
ClassGraphic From Shakers to Scientologists, from the Ephrata Community to the Homestead Heritage community, the U. S. has been the seedbed for new expressions of faith. Formerly known as "cults," these new religious movements (NRMs) have affected and continue to influence U. S. religious history since colonial days. Baylor Associate Professor Emeritus Dr. Rosalie Beck will delve into several NRMS, known and less well-known, so you can discover why they began, what they believe and teach and how they change our world.
