Whether you hope to start a new nonprofit organization or lead a long-established one, knowing the process from beginning to end will help you make more informed decisions. Joe Gatlin and Phillip Bridgewater will start this course by introducing you to the steps for forming a 501(c)(3), tax implications, alternatives to the nonprofit status, sunset strategies and the changing goals of a nonprofit board as it matures. Suzi Pagel will help you gain a clear understanding of the Sarbanes Oxley regulations, and a panel of local nonprofit leaders will discuss the key skills for effective leadership.
